So, you’d like to get to know us, eh?
Well, that’s just peachy.
Pull up a pew and I’ll tell you all about it…
We are an entirely independent online music magazine, run by a bunch of absolute music obsessives/geeks (delete as appropriate). It was a case of either launch this site or quit our jobs and become professional groupies/musicians. Seriously. This way we can do something productive with our energies while the “side projects” remain quietly in the background without landing us in jail.
Despite being somewhat “musically pre-occupied” 24/7, we pride ourselves on the fact we’re not elitists (well, most of the time). Music is a gift to be enjoyed by everyone, so why should there be ‘cool list’ snobbery? That said, there is a line, and Westlife definitely sit the other side of it.
We like conversations, so we welcome everyone’s views. As such, you’ll find reviews and opinions on here from people who would never dream of sitting down to write something normally. In fact, chances are they won’t have done – we’ll have had a chat and captured its essence in a wordy way.
If you fancy getting involved and telling us what you think of a new release or live event, then please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d honestly love to hear what you have to say. You don’t need a portfolio of work or a collection of rare handcrafted Radiohead picture discs to write for us. You just need a passion for music and the desire to share that passion through the media of writing or film (Yes, that’s right. Why not send us a video review?).
We don’t like haters (or speeding tickets). While human nature dictates no-one is right all the time, it might be worth remembering the views that you read on this site are people’s opinions, which they are entitled to have. Just because your opinion is different, doesn’t (always) make them wrong. If you are visiting this site, please be prepared to hear a range of views and bear in mind you might not like them all.
So why music medication?
If you ask us (and I wouldn’t advise it unless you have a few hours to kill), nothing beats the buzz of an incredible artist playing live. Nothing is better than the pounding of drums rattling your chest and nothing makes you feel as good as the natural high of bouncing along with a roomful of likeminded people.
We believe music is the best non-GM, farm assured, sugar free, fair trade cure-all you could find. It doesn’t matter if you’re broken hearted, feeling a bit ick, or wanna get your thang on - whatever the weather there’ll always be a piece of music to make you feel better.
In short, we believe music is medication.
No prescription required.
